what we do
CHEM-ECOL can reclaim almost any industrial “waste oil” and bring it back to like-new condition. If it can be collected without coming into contact with non-compatible oils, we can purify it for re-use. Oil reclaiming at its best.
- CHEM-ECOL is licensed for “closed-loop” oil purification
- We have no competitors in Canada, and only handful of competitors in the U.S.; none can offer oil purification service as fast or efficient as ours
- More than 99 per cent of oil product purified through our unique process is returned to our clients; less than 1% of oil is lost during water and waste removal
Oils we purify include:
- Hydraulic oils
- Gear oils
- Quench oils
- Heat-treating oils
- Heat-transfer oils
- Way lubricants
- Stamping oils
- Drawing oils
- Process oils
- Cutting oils (straight oil, not water soluble)
- Phosphate ester fire resistant fluids
- Polyol ester fire resistant fluids
- Polyglycol fire resistant fluids
- Water-glycol fire resistant fluids
What oils cannot be purified?
Engine oils, crankcase oils and other automotive products cannot be reclaimed. A “re-refining” process is best suited to treating these products. See our “Technical Information” page for a description.
At present, we do not reclaim soluble oils or cutting and grinding solutions — but we are currently investigating potential methods for doing this.

All our equipment is drained and flushed between jobs to avoid cross-contamination.
